    Trinasolar Vertex S+ 500W+ modules cut BOS by 2.27% and LCOE by 4.24%, DNV test shows

    Trinasolar's Vertex S+ 500W+ mono-facial modules can reduce balance of system (BOS) costs by up to 2.27%, levelized costs of energy (LCOE) by up to 4.24% and structure costs by up to 12.01% compared with three reference modules based on n-type technology, according to DNV, an independent testing and certification organization for the energy industry. This once again reinforces Vertex S+ modules as a market leader.

    DNV conducted the assessment of a rooftop solar project in Milan, Italy, in January. In the project, DNV compared the BOS cost and LCOE of Trinasolar's 210R 500W+ mono-facial module, the 182 490W mono-facial module and the 210R 450W mono-facial module, as well as the 182R 500W mono-facial module. In the assessment, total installed capacity of each project is about the proposed capacity of 250kWp. Since the project is on a rooftop, a typical fixed structure was considered.

    The assessment showed that Trinasolar Vertex S+ 500W+ modules can reduce the structure cost by up to 12.01%. The structure cost for the four PV modules was $29,936, $30,663, $33,936 and $30,542, with Trinasolar's Vertex S+ 500W+ modules remaining the lowest among the four. Trinasolar's Vertex S+ 500W+ modules draw on innovative design with low voltage and high-string power. This design can effectively reduce the number of strings, and the corresponding mechanical connections such as racking structure, DC cables and other electrical connections can be effectively saved, and thus the system cost, thereby giving extra value to customers.

    The DNV report also found that Trinasolar's Vertex S+ 500W+ modules can reduce BOS costs up to 2.27% and LCOE by up to 4.24%, maximizing customer value. Thanks to the innovative low-voltage design, material and labor costs can be cut, and less initial investment is needed, resulting in a shorter payback time for investors. With ultra-high power, Trinasoalr's Vertex S+ 500W+ modules reduce the number of modules in the setup and speed up construction, further reducing total investment costs.
